To produce C-SPAN's Campaign 2022 coverage. Under direction of the Political Editor, produces House, Senate and gubernatorial debate and campaign coverage for a region of the country. Identifies which events to cover in that region and produces those programs for C-SPAN's platforms.


  • Researches and identifies key House, Senate & gubernatorial debates and campaign events.
  • Identifies and serves as direct contact with local media partners who are producing debates in key races. Coordinates acquisition of these debates including gaining permission as well as editorial and logistical information for debates.
  • Produces all aspects of debates and campaign events for the platforms, including graphics creation, identifying points of interest, writing program descriptions used on the web & for cable guides and alerting social media colleagues about potentially viral moments.
  • Works with the Assignment Desk to coordinate logistical information for live feeds, tape playbacks and file download/transcoding for debates.
  • Provides editorial guidance to all C-SPAN platforms, including Washington Journal and Radio, for possible topics, guests and issues.
  • Keeps current on news and public affairs, especially as they relate to politics.


  • Extensive knowledge of and enthusiasm for politics, particularly in House, Senate and gubernatorial races.
  • Minimum of four years related television production experience.
  • Demonstrated editorial decision-making ability.
  • Ability to be a team player, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure throughout the campaign season, on a flexible work schedule with evening and weekend hours.
  • Experience using a newsroom management system.
  • Knowledge of C-SPAN editorial process and style.
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications or Political Science preferred.
